Often small leak will sink a great ship. Even small parts like screws, nuts, gaskets, swivels and punched parts require high quality.

With sorting machines for the fully automated quality control we enable an accuracy up to the µm range as well as inspections with minimal expenditure of time and a zero-failure production. With additional reservoir/bunkers the sorting machines are working independent from any manpower over longer time periods. In connection with packaging machines the proofed products are provided ready for shipping.

Sorting machines with continuous throughput

The rapid 100% inspection of small parts requires a high performance separating and loading but also a continuous transport of the workpieces. This demand meet the standardized system M3-G with rotating glass ring. The sorting can be carried out according to different criteria. It is not limited to a good and bad sorting.

  • Inspection criteria: geometry (dimensional accuracy), surface features, sorting accuracy and others
  • Performance: > 500 parts per min (depening on the parts)
  • Inspection technique: CVS image processing system with up to 8 high resolution CCD cameras
  • Handling: hoppers, loading and packaging systems
  • Dimensions: 1.900 x 1.200 x 1.400 mm³ (HxWxD)

Sorting machines with clocked throughput

A comprehensive part inspection, especially inspections around the complete perimeter, demands a rotation around the axis. The clocked test and sorting machines meet these requirements. They are based on the application of a rotary table or a stepwise linear feed. The parts are thus transferred to suitable centering devices as arbors or clamping devices to be rotated 360° during the optical inspection. Clocked test and sorting machines possess one or more measurement stations. They allow a part sorting according to multiple criteria.

  • Inspection criteria: geometry (dimensional accuracy), surface features, sorting accuracy and others
  • Performance: > 60 parts per min (depening on the parts and the inspection task)
  • Inspection technique: CVS image processing system with up to 8 high resolution CCD cameras
  • Handling: hoppers, loading and packaging systems
  • Dimensions: customized

Equipment and options

Beside the metallic frame and the housing the basic equipment of the sorting machines comprises an image processing system with up to four cameras, a PLC SIEMENS S7, three sorting chutes (good, bad, pseudo), cables, and required connections.

Additional equipment depending on the inspection task and the required throughput:

  • Separating system (vibrating spiral conveyor, centrifuge, and others)
  • Additional image processing systems and cameras
  • Further measurement systems (sensor, laser, and others)

Depending on the customer request:

  • Bin / hopper
  • Packaging
  • Additional sorting chutes
